How do we tell our twins apart?

A lot of people have asked me lately how we tell the boys apart. For the most part anyone that sees them quite a bit can tell them apart pretty easily, however, we feel like they are looking more and more alike all the time. And sometimes we mix them up too. Mostly if they have hats on and you can't get a good look at their faces. One time I did put Carter in Dylan's crib, I bet he was wondering what was going on when he woke up!

The biggest difference is Dylan is a little bit smaller and Carter's face is rounder. I'm not sure if this is a true difference or if it comes from when they were in the womb and Carter sat on Dylan's head the entire time. It is crazy when we look back at pictures when they were first born and the left side of Dylan's head was pushed in quite a bit. Poor guy! I think Carter will owe him one for the rest of his life for that one. I always wonder if they were the same weight if it they would look more alike. Also, Carter's hair seems to be a bit curlier than Dylan's hair.

However, for the next year or so, we have one safety! Carter has one of those strawberries on the inside of his arm, so when in doubt, we can check. This was strange because he wasn't born with it, but when he was a month or so he got this little red mark and then it continued to grow. I guess at one point it will just go away on its own.

Sometimes it is quicker to identify who is who by what they are playing with. Carter is always playing with shoes or carrying around blankets and balls. Dylan is always chasing after Stella and carrying around pacifiers or hanging onto my legs.
