Wow, that was a busy week!

Well, I should be in bed instead of blogging. Priorities, right? We had an exhausting weekend painting the house followed by an extremely busy week. Keith had to go to New York Mon-Wednesday evening for work, so my mom came up to help out with the boys.
I play softball every Tuesday night with a group from work. We are in the MPLS advertising league, so it is a lot of fun....especially when we do well. We had our second round tournament game on Tuesday night and ended up knocking out the #2 team. I was thinking that the next game would be next week, but we ended up having to play Wednesday night too. Mom and the boys came on Tuesday, but Wednesday's game didn't start until almost 8:00, so she stayed home with the guys. We had a really exciting game that went into extra innings. We managed to pull off the win and will play Fallon in the semi finals on Friday night. I'm pretty excited for the game already.
Then all day/night Thursday and this morning, we had our annual JTM / Hormel Deli outing. We had a great time and I stayed out well past my normal bedtime and had to get up early to go golfing this morning. Let's just say 6:30 came REALLY fast this morning. I'll post some select pictures of a few highlights of the evening. So now I need to go to bed because we will be back to painting again tomorrow! We purchased the Wagner Power Roller tonight, so we will see if that speeds up the process!

Carter, his hair is getting so curly, he has permanent wings.

Keith: 0, Iron: 2

Check out in between he eyes.
About three years ago, Keith and I were staying at my parents house for the weekend and were getting ready for a wedding that we were attending that evening. Keith had just finished ironing his shirt and somehow had a mishap with the retractable cord on the iron. The plug portion smacked him right in between the eyes. So I took him to the clinic in Baxter quickly and he got away with the glue stuff instead of stitches.

Since that incident, Keith and the iron had been getting along great until......that same iron attacked him AGAIN! He had just finished ironing and was walking down the hallway with the hot iron and the cord somehow got caught on the door, causing the iron to jerk back onto his arm. (Is this a sign that I need to step it up
to be a better wife and iron my husband's clothes?)

Flashback Friday

Below is one of our fist glimpses of our little guys. Just looking at these really makes me wonder how the heck we got so lucky to have twins. These scans bring back lots of feelings from the pregnancy. We were nervous, scared, excited, you name it!!! I'm not sure if you ever get used to the fact that there are TWO!

A weekend....hard at work!!!

This weekend, we took on the huge task of painting our house!!! A task that I am pretty sure I won't be doing AGAIN!!! Keith's parents and brother, Nick, made the trip to Minneapolis and volunteered to be part of our painting crew.
Like normal, when I start a home improvement project, I was over ambitious and was certain we would have it finished this weekend! Boy was I wrong! I quickly learned that the exterior of our house is much larger than I realized. We managed to get the entire house covered in one coat of paint. When we went to bed last night all of us were fairly confident that we did a really good job and didn't think we would need a second coat. I was sad to hear at 7 am this morning that we would need to do that second coat. However, I do think it will go on faster than the first coat.
It would cost around $5,000 to have somebody paint our house. When we first started I kept thinking, wow, I'm so glad we are doing this ourselves, this won't take long! For each hour that passed and for each gallon of paint we went through, hiring somebody started to sound better and better!

Boys....

On Friday night, we took Dylan's pants off to give him a bath and noticed the "DB" written on his diaper. When we picked them up they were in a different room at the daycare, not sure if they were having troubles telling them apart:)

An out of the ordinary Friday with a few unfortunate events

This weekend we will be painting the exterior of our house. So I decided to take a day of vacation so I could do some very serious, overdue house cleaning and prep the house to be painted! I was really excited to take the day off because almost every vacation day I use equals me spending 8 hours in the car.

Well, my day quickly filled up with several obstacles. First, we had to take Stella in to get her haircut, she had gotten so shaggy that I could barely see her left eye and quite frankly, she stunk. (YES, we probably should have bathed her ourselves) Then I had to take Dylan to Burnsville for a physical therapy appointment. (He is done with the helmet, but his head still tilts, so he has to go to PT about once a month)

So on my way to drop Stella off, I got pulled over. This was my first moving violation in the great state of 10,000 lakes. He asked me if I knew why I was being pulled over, and to be honest I wasn't even sure and assumed speed. I guess I must have rolled through a stop sign. I didn't think it was that big of a deal and figured I was probably overdue until I got my ticket. $145, not $45, $145!!! Had I known, persuasive Jessica and the waterworks would have come out!!! The ticket listed all the different violations and fees. To my surprise, possession of a small amount of marijuana is a $128 fee. I guess I would have assumed this to be a greater crime than rolling through a stop sign.

(The officer looked almost like this + 40 years)

I finally made it back home at about 11:30 and finally got to work on the house. I did some pretty serious cleaning. As a matter of a fact, it was the first time I had ever used the attachment parts on our vacuum cleaner. (I never said I was a Martha Stewart) We also purchased a steam rug cleaner this winter, which I used for the first time today too. I cleaned the living room and hallway carpet today. I also discovered that we have a lot more room in our kitchen by turning the table. So I had quite a day.

I was busy cleaning and Keith hollered in saying there was a lost little boy in the street who didn't speak English. I had remembered hearing there was a Russian family down the street, which ended up being his home. We couldn't believe it. The lady who answered the door didn't even seem to have noticed he was missing or overly enthused and grateful we brought him home.

Now back to those unfortunate events of the day. Keith got home from work this afternoon and started to power wash the house in prep of our paint project. Our neighbor, Wade, was so kind to let us borrow his power washer. Halfway through, Keith came in to tell me that it was no longer working!!! So we got Wade a new one, which was $150. So Keith and I have seen better Fridays.

Baby Stella. She looks so innocent back then. These pictures almost make me want to get another puppy! This was March of 2007.

Picture Game

I've been tagged. Here are the rules:
1. Open the 4th picture folder on your computer.
2. Open the 4th picture and post it on your blog.
3. Explain the picture.
4. Tag people to do the same
So....here it is!!!

This is my nephew Logan, it was taken when my mom, dad and him came to visit Keith and me when we lived in New Jersey. This was taken at the Jersey shore, I can't remember which beach we were at. He had a pretty busy weekend. We took him to Philly, Atlantic City and New York City. Then they went to Washington D.C.
I'm tagging Kelly K, Kellie W and Kelly S. Have fun ladies!

It's not a new truck, but....

one thing to take off Keith's wish list. He has been wanting a bike for the longest time. Between some heavy peer pressure from the neighbor "boys" and a sale at Penn cycle, we got some new bikes. We are pretty excited to take the boys our for some rides.

Funny Boys..

I brought the boys outside to enjoy the nice day and the two just sat down like this back to back. It was too funny! It was after a nap so they have some sleepy eyes.

A new toy!

Today we took the boys to Toys R Us for the first time. Since all they seem to do is pull themselves up and walk around the walls and furniture I thought that they would maybe like a walker. Since having the boys, I have found picking out toys can be such a guessing game, you never know what they will like. We did good today, they just loved this toy. They looked so excited when we were opening it up! Keith was thinking we might need two!

A weekend home!

After being in Iowa three weekends in a row, Keith and I had a lot of housework to catch up on this weekend. I washed and folded at least 5 loads of laundry. We have also been prepping the exterior of our house to be painted. Next weekend Keith's parents are going to come up to help us paint. We still need to power wash it sometime this week. Today I decided scraping paint is NOT a fun task!
