Christmas Decorating (the exterior version)

Surprise, surprise, I saw this idea on Pinterest.  Last year we wrapped lights around the columns, but I wanted to give this a try and I like how it turned out, so with a few tweaks I think it will return in 2013.  I wanted to do white lights, but since we have these odd fluorescent looking white but really a touch of blue LED lights that we spent an arm and a leg on that my husband really thought we should go with that may only save .74 on electricity per holiday season, but I guess the big sell is that you can fit up to like 50 strings of lights into one outlet.  I won't take credit for those statistics, just sharing what Keith tells me.  So, I went with blue, to coordinate and hopefully not clash.  I do like the blue though, it's really bright when you look out the front door.

Next year I want to get some really tall vases post garden season and then maybe get the branches even higher.  Of course since these blue ones are NOT LED lights, I might be at my max per outlet capacity.

Keith's dad was here when we did this, so he helped out a bit.  He was not so much confident in my engineering of the structure, so luckily I had this line in my back pocket…..

I enjoyed the outside lights on your home; I am visiting from Kelly's blog. Then I looked around your blog to see your live in Minnesota! (So do I - Fergus Falls) and then saw you had lived in New Jersey! I am a New Jersey girl, so then I really knew I had to comment! (Basking Ridge, NJ). Have a very Merry Christmas. Your sons are adorable!
