A lot happening with the house...

Last week I was shocked to pull into our driveway to a completely painted house. For a second I thought I was at the wrong house. They painted the entire thing, including trim, in one day. I think it took me about a day to paint my garage door at the old house!

So funny story about the interior paint colors. I had picked two colors and to be safe I bought samples and tested them out. Well, my mom was looking at the darker one, which was called Tiki Hut and said that is the same color as your sister’s basement! What is the odds of that, a zillion shades of browns out there and we picked the exact same one. Plus I didn’t need to buy the sample.

We had our final walk-through on Tuesday night. Keith has been attempting a miracle to make this closing happen! Closings sure are a pain in the butt! And the funny thing is, all our troubles are coming down to the darn lawn. We have had much, much drama attempting to install irrigation. The back is done, but the front yard wasn’t graded that weekend – and really still isn’t, so we haven’t been able to do it. On top of that, Keith realized that he no longer has a back of a 20 year old and could barely walk for about two weeks after. Yes- convenient time for his back to go out, so this girl has been moving all of our stuff. I carried up about 15 tubs from the basement this weekend in the humidity.
Anyhow, back to our lawn drama. The other problem is it had to be sodded by Wednesday, for the appraiser. Well, the guy doing the grading – who our builder has now fired – still hasn’t completed it. And we still have to get the irrigation in and don’t want to do it after we sod or else we would be basically be throwing away money.

So to a new plan, we wrote an addendum to the offer to remove the sod from the purchase price. (this changed equaled about 5 hours of Keith’s time- probably more) Then we still have to seed to close.  Once we get the irrigation in we will either re-seed or sod. We have been debating between the two.

If all goes well, here is the plan!

Close Friday at 9:00

We will be in Baxter the majority of the weekend for Baxter Fun Days – and yes, they are fun!

Sunday – movers come with our items that have been in long-term storage! I’ve missed my stuff, especially our queen bed.

Mon- December –ORGANIZE……I’ve been doing some pretty questionable packing, so I have a feeling it is going to take a really long time to get organized.
