Halloween

I have some really exciting news to report – Carter was a ninja for Halloween this year.  After three years of being a pumpkin, he finally gave a new costume a try.  However, this did not come easy.  Apparently he doesn’t like Halloween anymore and just wanted to stay home and hand out candy???? I wasn’t expecting this conversation until 9 or 10.  However, when the time came, he actually put his costume on without any arguments and had a good time!  Dylan was quite pumped about his zombie costume, which was much easier than the granola bar costume he talked about wanting for a few months.  To no surprise, Olivia was Elsa.  Sorta just felt like an everyday look for her.  I love trick or treating in our neighborhood, so many people put out fun things in their yards and really get into it, with it being on a Friday this year I think there were more people out.  We went back by our house and were out of candy within an hour.

Thought I better get these posted before Christmas:)  I think I posted a few earlier.  Carter was a pumpkin 3-peat this year.  If he wants to be a pumpkin again next year, I am certain we will need a new pumpkin costume.  Olivia got into going up to the houses this year, which was really fun the watch.  The boys zipped in and out of houses so fast we could barely keep up.  This time of year always reminds me of how lucky we are to live in such a great neighborhood.  The streets were packed with families.  So fun!  

The Pumpkin THREEpeat

It happened, the pumpkin costume made it's third Halloween appearance.  I have the weirdest kids when it comes to Halloween costumes, they just don't really like them!  Dylan was a little excited about his ghost costume this year, but nothing like the kids who wears their superhero costumes three times a week and it's worn out before Halloween hits.  I tell people now to do the fun costumes when they are little because they may be really stubborn about it when they get older!  I for sure would have had one be Clark Kent and the other Superman.  Had I know we would have a pumpkin three peat, I would have chosen a different first Halloween costume.  However, they were my pumpkin babies, so it was fitting at the time.

Trick or Treat

We got really lucky on beggars night (yes, that is what they call it in Iowa).  It was actually fairly warm out.  I was going to have Olivia wear an old costume, but she did not want anything to do with it and grabbed her bumble bee wings.  She was all about this costume by the third round.  We got plenty of use out of our costumes this year.  We wore them 5 times!  Plus Carter was a pumpkin last year, so we doubled up on that one!

This year the boys wanted to go with our neighbors so we just kept up!  

Olivia was a trooper, she spent a lot of time in the wagon and went to a few houses.  She would say Thank you at every house.  She was pretty content holding this snickers for a while, so I finally had to give in and give her a sucker.  It was her first and she was a fan!

Carter went and sat on our neighbor Noelle's lap for like an hour.  They love her!
