So we are boat people now! I laugh a bit at that because I can't say there was ever a time in my life that I thought we would have a boat. And by boat, I should probably say pontoon. And the best part about owning a boat - is having a boat with two other couples! The guys have done a lot of work with getting everything going and it's been really nice to split the work and all the costs three ways! Best of all, 3 times the fun for all the kids to go out together.
We talked about doing this last summer and I had serious doubts about how much we would use it. Another year passed, the kids got a bit older, we live 3 minutes from a lake and we started to see it more of a great way to get out with friends and family and all the memories the kids will have on the lake. And so far we are really enjoying it.
We are total rookies with all this boat business as well! So certainly a learning each time we go out! It's usually a last minute, let's go out, throw a bunch of crap in a bag and head out for an hour or two, which is chaotic but works out pretty well for us. And all the kids equate boating to let's snack like it's our job so we have been going through juice boxes, gold fish any other snack that we have on hand. Each time we come back in at least 1/7 kids is in a pure meltdown and usually one falls on the dock and scrapes a knee.
We still need to come up with a good name for the boat.
This was our big impulse purchase, totally worth it!
Olivia might love going out the most. She loves to be in the water.
Having this pad for the kids has been awesome. Olivia pretty much laughs the entire time. It certainly adds quite a bit of fun to our outings.
