It took me forever to land on a destination for a drivable mini vacation. And we finally landed on Kansas City. Overall, the drive went well and the kids were excited to stay in a hotel and explore.
However, I'm sad to report that Kansas City just did not come close to Jamaica. Which we knew it wouldn't, but we felt like we spent a lot of time waiting in lines and I didn't really expect that with Kansas City.
Our first stop was Schlitterban's Water Park - the one with the world's tallest waterside, which we did not do. Carter says he will be back when he is tall enough! This place had a lot of really cool slides, but with Olivia we couldn't really do many of them and the lines were really long to split up. Dylan and I did one and we waited for an hour and then Keith and Carter did the same. So it was fun, but then we didn't want to keep waiting in line, split up all day. So by the time we left and based on the cost to get in and the long lines, Keith now calls it Shitterbahns. However, if we could have gone on watersides all day it would have been pretty darn fun.
Next stop.... LEGO Land. And again, WE WAITED and WAITED. We waited 2 hours to get in that place! Turns out you can buy tickets online and go at a certain time, but I did notice those people waited about an hour as well. So by the time we got into the place I was a bit on the grumpy side and I didn't really feel like it was worth the cost to get in. They did have a climbing playhouse inside, which they had the most fun in. Unfortunately, Olivia couldn't go in and was not too happy about being excluded.
These big legos were pretty cool.
Next stop... the aquarium. The kids did really enjoy this! Olivia was very entertaining with lots of "WHOOOA's"
Later that evening we went to Dave and Busters. I would say all the kids had fun with the arcade games. Me too, I love a good game of skee ball. Who wouldn't? Olivia liked it too, just a little dangerous for anyone near her.
I think the boy's favorite thing was swimming in the hotel pool!
